Leanne is an artist-maker who explores research-led making across processes, machines & materials associated with manufacturing & trade, now focusing on the material futures of steel & glass & their connections to archives & collections across the West Midlands. Leanne is also fascinated with connotations of materiality, and how objects have the power to become self-portraits.
Leanne was Whitworth Wallis Artist in Residence 2019 at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, exploring archive-led research into stained glass production, culminating in a series of public events & an exhibition on show until Jan 2021. She was a bursary artist on the Living Memory Project, showing her new sculpture at New art Gallery Walsall in Summer 2021.
She also works for Meadow Arts, where she is launching the first digital artwork commissioning programme, RURALities in May 2021.
